Three Instagram Metrics You Need to Know!

Whether you are running a business account or classify yourself as an influencer, it is important to know how your posts are performing and what things you can do to increase your exposure. Instagram Insights provide users with a bunch of numbers and graphs, but what do they really mean? Perhaps the more important question is how can you use these numbers to improve your performance on Instagram?

  1. Follower Growth Rate Number of followers gained / previous number of followers x 100 If you want to increase your reach without spending a penny, then it is all about follower growth. Use this metric to calculate how your page has grown in followers compared to any period of your choice. This calculation can be run daily, weekly, monthly, semi-annually, or annually.

  1. Post Engagement Rate Post interactions / total followers X 100 Interactions include likes, comments, shares, and saves. Depending on the type of page you have, 3% to 6% is a good range to be in for engagement. If you are below this range, you likely need to spice up the content you are posting to engage your followers more.

  1. Reach Total number of unique users who saw your post Reach is the ultimate metrics for gauging the awareness that you are generating with your posts. A high reach indicates that you are using effective hashtags and putting out interesting content for your target market.

Tracking these three simple, yet important metrics can provide great help to your Instagram page. Understand what the numbers mean, and make changes to your posts accordingly and you will be sure to see some amazing results.
